Mike Stangel , Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Stangel brings a professional expertise of more than 25 years in the cosmetic, cosmeceutical and nutraceutical industries. Prior to joining Botaneco, Mr. Stangel served as a senior advisor to private equity firms in targeting consumer products sectors for M&A opportunities. Mr. Stangel spent several years at Alberto Culver Company from 1987 to 2003 where he started as Director of Sales for the Professional Division and ended successively President of the Canadian and South American subsidiaries. Before 1987, he held various management positions in sales and marketing at companies such as Beierdorf, Purex Corporation, McNail Laboratories and Kraft Foods.
Jack Guth, Director, Process and Product Development
Jack is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating all process and product development activities. Jack is a market-oriented scientist with extensive business expertise, experienced in joint development relationships, identification of and licensing of outside technologies. Jack started out his career working in the finished goods side of the Personal Care industry and later switched to the supplier side. Over the years he has established a solid record of numerous successful new product launches in both the hair care and skin care industries. Active for almost 40 years in the Personal Care arena, he has authored numerous articles, been awarded some 17 patents, and has given numerous technical presentations both in the US and Europe.
A past member of the Scientific Advisory Committee to the CTFA, Jack served the industry in that capacity for almost 20 years. Guth earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from George Washington University, and a PhD in organic chemistry from the American University in Washington D.C.

Mitch Beazer, Operations Manager
Mitch manages Botaneco's state of the art oilbody processing suite in Calgary, Alberta, and is responsible for meeting product demand and managing all aspects of scale-up and process improvements. Mitch brings hands-on experience in the production of oilbodies from various crops, and was one of the original team who developed and validated the aqueous extraction process at both a pilot and commercial scale.
